BIO

BIO

Daniele Sigalot (1976) is an artist hailing from Rome, Italy. After working for almost a decade in advertising, Sigalot abruptly quit his job. The dizzy, yet visionary move to Berlin to focus solely on his art proved to be the first act of his successful career, and a hallmark of his style.

Sigalot’s work speaks through a personal artistic language, sometimes joyful, sometimes cynical, often absurd. Thought-provoking through of all its expressions, his work transcends content, scale, and even time.

Deeply ironical, Sigalot plays with materiality and its context, exploring the ambiguity of our perception. Since his first exhibition in 2006, his 40+ exhibits around the world have seen his oeuvre spanning diverse media such as text, aluminum, neon art, and photography. Notable shows were held at the MOAD, the Milan Triennale, the Royal Palace of Caserta, the Royal Palace of Naples, the Archeological museum in Basilicata, the MAM in Mantova and Palazzo Ducale in Genova.

After 10 years in the German capital, he recently relocated his studio (ironically named "La Pizzeria") to Naples, where he draws inspiration from the Southern Italian city’s beauty and idiosyncrasy.
